Lemhi County Busted Mugshots is privately operated and has no government affiliation. We cannot verify whether a person is currently in custody, confirm a release, retrieve a booking record or photograph, or change a record for you. Use the agency or court below for an official answer, and call 911 only for an emergency.
Lemhi County Sheriff and Jail
The Sheriff provides the county jail and dispatch relationship that matters for many Salmon and Lemhi County bookings. The county site identifies John Bennett as Sheriff and does not publish a linked public roster, live photo feed, or most-wanted page, so a direct call is the current-custody route.

Jail: (208) 756-6040
The reviewed sources do not publish separate jail lobby hours. Call before visiting or asking about a current booking.
See the official Sheriff page and Sheriff staff directory for the county contact block. Do not use the jail number for an emergency.
County Public Records Request
Use the Lemhi County Public Records Request Form for a county-held booking sheet, booking photograph, arrest-related record, or other document. The form routes the request to the department that holds the record, so name the Sheriff's Office or jail and describe the person, approximate date, arresting agency, and record type.

General county schedule
General county hours are listed as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requests should be written, specific, and concise. Ask for an electronic copy when available.
- Identify one person, a narrow date range, the arresting agency if known, and each record requested.
- Separate the booking photograph from an arrest report, court file, or custody question.
- Expect advance-payment review when staff work exceeds two hours or production exceeds 100 paper pages.
- Keep any written response. The form identifies granted, delayed, billed, advance-required, denied, and partial responses, with an appeal route under Idaho Code § 74-115.
The Idaho Attorney General explains that an Idaho resident generally receives the first two hours of labor and first 100 paper pages without charge. Further fees may reflect the lowest-paid qualified employee or attorney needed to process the request. The statewide response framework is generally three working days with notice if more time is needed, and the Attorney General describes up to 10 working days for an Idaho resident and up to 35 days for a nonresident in the circumstances stated there. These are response rules, not a promise that a photo will be released. Idaho Code § 74-105 can require withholding or redaction for juvenile, investigatory, sealed, or otherwise protected material. The county form does not establish a flat mugshot fee.
Read the county form and the Idaho Attorney General public-records guidance before submitting a request.
Salmon Police and City Records
Salmon Police may hold the municipal arrest or incident report, while the Lemhi County Sheriff may hold the jail booking record and photograph. Request each record from the office that created it rather than assuming the city and county systems are the same.
Salmon Police
Police station: 211 Poleline Street
Salmon, ID 83467
Dispatch: (208) 756-8980
Chief Terry Stratton: (208) 756-1347
City Hall and Clerk
200 Main Street
Salmon, ID 83467
City Hall / Clerk: (208) 756-3214
City Clerk contact is listed as Denzil McKenzie.
Use the City of Salmon staff page and the Salmon Police Department page. The reviewed city pages do not show a public daily arrest log, booking-photo viewer, separate records form, fixed fee, turnaround, or police records hours. Ask the city for its current process.
Idaho Court and iCourt
Use Idaho iCourt Smart Search for public case and hearing information after an arrest has entered the court system. Search by party name or case information, then compare the arrest date and agency before treating a result as the same person.
Lemhi County Court
206 Courthouse Drive
Salmon, ID 83467
Court: (208) 742-1673
The Lemhi County Court page and the Idaho Supreme Court's court-record instructions provide the clerk and courthouse route. A sealed, shielded, exempt, newly filed, or not-yet-indexed case may not appear online. iCourt is a case and disposition source, not a live jail roster or booking-photo service.
VINE Custody Notifications
Use VINELink when you need an available custody or release notification. The Idaho Sheriffs' Association explains that VINE interfaces with Idaho jail systems and IDOC and can send phone or email notifications when an event is present.
The reviewed VINE sources provide a web route rather than a Lemhi office address, local phone number, fee schedule, or posted hours. VINE is not a booking-photo source, does not prove that a person is currently in Lemhi County Jail, and an absent result is not proof that no arrest occurred.
For the system explanation, see the Idaho Sheriffs' Association VINE page.
Idaho Department of Correction
Use the IDOC Resident/Client Search for a person under Idaho Department of Correction jurisdiction, including incarcerated, probation, or parole status. It is not a list of everyone booked in Lemhi County and its public result does not display a booking photograph.
IDOC Records Information
1299 N. Orchard Street, Suite 110
Boise, ID 83706
(208) 658-2000
The reviewed source does not publish office hours on the search page.
IDOC says the search is updated daily, but status and location can change. The public fields include an IDOC number, name, birth year, and status, with more detail in some records. A person released from the county jail may never appear in IDOC, while a person later sentenced to state custody may appear after the local booking stage.
Federal and Immigration Locators
Federal systems answer narrower custody questions than the Lemhi County Jail. The reviewed BOP and ICE locator pages do not publish a Lemhi contact address, phone number, or office-hours schedule, so use their online forms and read the stated search limits.
- BOP Inmate Locator: searches federal sentenced inmates from 1982 to the present by name or BOP register number. Results may show a release or no BOP custody, but that does not rule out county, state, federal pretrial, or another custody system. The public result format has no booking-photo field.
- ICE Online Detainee Locator: searches qualifying current ICE or recent CBP custody with an exact nine-digit A-number and country of birth, or exact name, country of birth, and birth date. It cannot search people under 18 and may not show every person in ICE custody. It is not a photo archive.
For federal pretrial custody, the United States Marshals Service explains that a person may be held in a local jail and that it does not generally disclose prisoner photographs. Do not use BOP or ICE to answer a local booking question.
Questions About This Guide
This page is an information directory, not an official records intake desk. The site operator cannot authenticate a person, confirm custody or release, change a government record, remove an outside article, or guarantee a search-engine update. For an urgent threat or medical emergency, call 911. For a factual correction to this guide, use the site's published operator channel, but send booking, custody, and court questions to the originating office.
Do not approach anyone because of a name, photograph, news story, or rumor. A booking entry is an accusation or intake event, and the court record controls the later disposition.
